2020 has been quite a year, hasn't it?
It is so easy to dwell on all the things we've lost this year, especially as the holidays approach and we realize just how different our Thanksgiving table is going to look. And it's okay to be sad and feel yucky about it because I know we do too.
But at the same time, there are still many things to be grateful for this year and we thought this challenge would give all of us a chance to reflect on those things this week in the hopes healing out hearts a bit.
In fact, we just read on the Headspace Facebook page today that,
"In a study at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, 40 patients were examined for biological factors of heart disease, such as inflammation and heart rhythm. Half of the patients were asked to keep a journal for most days of the week and write about two or three things they were grateful for.
After two months, health benefits were found for the patients who wrote in their journals, including reduced inflammation levels and improved heart rhythm. When heart disease risk was compared to before and after journal writing, there was a decreased risk in just the short span of 8 weeks."Please visit our Facebook or Instagram pages and share some of the things YOU are grateful for this year.
